Problem Description

IPCC Express Cisco Agent Desktop does not install on a system with Internet Explorer version 7.

Background

Cisco Agent Desktop (CAD) is the client which is installed on Contact Center Agent desktops. Currently the only version of Internet Explorer that is supported is IE version 6.

Problem Symptoms

During the install of CAD, the users will get the following error:

"Runtime Error C:\Program Files\Cisco\Desktop\IM\InstallManager.exe Abnormal program termination"

The installation will then abort.

A "Parameter Incorrect" error message will also appear after entering the IP address and port number.

Workaround/Solution

The workaround for this issue is to uninstall Internet Explorer 7 and then install Internet Explorer 6, which is available at the Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 download page.

CAD does not install if the PC has IE version 7.

Additional Information

This issue will be resolved in the CRS 4.0(5) release.

If you are a registered Cisco.com user, and are running CRS 4.0(4) or prior, you can find the latest information for CSCsd83135 by using the Bug Toolkit.

To access Bug Toolkit, you need:

  1. Internet Connection

  2. Web Browser

  3. Cisco.com user ID and password

To use Bug Toolkit, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Bug Toolkit (registered customers only)

  2. Log on with your Cisco.com user ID and password

  3. Click the Launch Bug Toolkit hyperlink

  4. Enter the ID number in the Enter known bug ID: field

  5. Click Search
