Problem Description

Affected boards from this Serial Number List may experience bootup issues due to issues with the bootup code (ROMMON) where certain registers are not properly configured. This can result in a card experiencing intermittent bootup problems.

Background

The current bootup code (ROMMON) does not configure certain registers in the card. This can result in a card experiencing intermittent bootup problems.

Problem Symptoms

This can result in an affected board experiencing intermittent bootup problems, including, but not limited to being locked in the bootup cycle.

Workaround/Solution

Cisco recommends a fix on failure solution to this issue. If the above issues are seen, the card should be returned for replacement by contacting the TAC as outlined below.
