Product

15600 - CISCO15600

15600-R5.0.2SWCD - R5.0.2

15600-R5.0.2SWCD= - R5.0.2

Problem Description

Unidirectional Path Switched Ring (UPSR) selector information is not updated correctly after selector paths are included in a bridge and roll operation.

Background

After bridge and roll is performed on a UPSR protected cross connect, the selector with the RFROM path is not deleted correctly from the selector table on the cross connect card. In addition, the selector state information retrieved by the network management interfaces is not updated.

Problem Symptoms

UPSR selector information will not be displayed correctly in the Cisco Transport Controller (CTC) and Transaction Language 1 (TL1) sessions.

Workaround/Solution

The solution is divided into two operations: removing pre-bridge and roll provisioning and synchronizing the selector information between the ONS15600 and the CTC and TL1.

After completing bridge and roll operations on UPSR cross connects, perform the following steps using a CTC:

Step A: Soft reset the cross connect cards

  1. From the shelf view, go to Maintenance pane, then select Preferred copy tab.

  2. Click on the Refresh button.

  3. Look in the Data Copy section. If the Preferred, and Currently Used boxes indicate Copy A, then proceed to the next step #A - 4. If the boxes do not indicate Copy A, then click on Set Preferred selection box, select Copy A, click apply, and then click Refresh. Copy A now should show up in the Preferred and Currently Used boxes.

  4. From CTC, right click on the card in slot 8 and issue a Soft-reset Card command. ENSURE THAT YOU ONLY DO A SOFT RESET.

  5. Wait for the slot 8 card to fully come up. This should take about two minutes. The SRV light on CTC will go green.

  6. Click Refresh to ensure the Preferred and Currently Used boxes have Copy A displayed.

  7. Click on the Set Preferred selection box, select Copy B, click apply and then click Refresh. Copy B now should show up in the Preferred and Currently Used boxes.

  8. From CTC right click on the card in slot 6 and issue Soft-reset Card command. ENSURE THAT YOU ONLY DO A SOFT RESET.

  9. Wait for the slot 6 card to fully come up (should take about 2 mins) the SRV light on CTC should go green.

Step B: Soft reset the active TSC

  1. From the shelf view, right-click on the ACTIVE TSC.

  2. Select Soft-reset Card.
