Problem Description

Some 15454E-XC-VXL-10G and 15454E-XC-VXL2.5G may take bit errors in certain slots. There is a transistor circuit that exists on these ports to improve the signal integrity. The transistors in failing boards will not turn on when the card initializes (boot-up).

Background

During lab evaluation it was noticed that the 15454E-XC-VXL-10G and 15454E-XC-VXL2.5G may take bit errors in certain slots within the 15454E node. These issues were seen immediately after initialization of the 15454E-XC-VXL-10G and 15454E-XC-VXL2.5G and thus is a dead on arrival (DOA) scenario.

Problem Symptoms

Cards are DOA and exhibit bit errors immediately.

Workaround/Solution

There is no workaround for this card.

It is recommended that the customer return the card for replacement.
