Problem Description

Server outdials participant's main number more than the number specified in "# of retry attempts".

Problem Symptoms

End user might get multiple phone mail messages from the Server if they did not answer the call.

Workaround/Solution

WORKAROUND:

Specify a smaller number for "# of retry attempts"

RESOLUTION:

A hot fix is available in 4.3.1f, 5.0.2z ConfSchd, vui and cs-db(PCI NS only) module. It is also fixed in 5.1.1b maintenance release. Contact the Cisco MeetingPlace Technical Assistance Center (TAC) to apply the hot fix.

The new behavior is:

If a FindMe outdial is initiated and there is a "First" FindMe setting, the system uses that number as the initial outdial destination, otherwise the Main Phone Number is used. Once the initial outdial has occurred and the system has still not located the user, it will proceed based upon the "# of Retry Attempts" in the system Usage Parameters.

If this parameter is 0, outdials will continue to the "Second" and "Third" FindMe settings, if they exist, and then stop. If the parameter is greater than 0, the system will start counting retries after the initial outdial.

One retry consists of a set of outdials: to "Second" if it exists, then "Third" if it exists, then back to "First". After "First" is outdialed again, one retry has occurred.
