Field Notice: FA00274 SMTP Gateway Stops Sending Notifications

Problem Description

Note: This Field Notice is a legacy Latitude Field Notice that has been converted to the Cisco format so the information would remain available to their customers.

When the SMTP gateway encoounters certain errors, it stops processing notifications. For example 451:Sender domain must resolve.

Problem Symptoms

No notifications are sent out for meetings that are scheduled they are lost and cannot be retrieved.


  1. Download the MeetingPlace SMTP hot fix from the Customer Support Resource Center.

  2. Stop the MeetingPlace SMTP and Notification Gateway service.

  3. Run the MeetingPlaceE-mailGateway.exe to install the new SMTP gateway.

  4. Restart the gateway machine.
