Cisco Unified MeetingPlace

Field Notice: FA00283 Meeting ID Length Not Enforced From Outlook

May 28, 2004

Products Affected

MeetingPlace for Outlook and earlier

Problem Description

Note: This Field Notice is a legacy Latitude Field Notice that has been converted to the Cisco format so the information would remain available to their customers.

The MeetingPlace server is set up to require a minimum meeting ID length, which is configurable by the System Manager. If a meeting is scheduled using outlook with a meeting ID length smaller than the minimum required, the scheduling form does not report the error.

Results can vary depending on MeetingPlace server version.

Problem Symptoms

Meeting ID's with fewer than the System Manager defined number of digits may be allowed.

This issue has been fixed in MeetingPlace Outlook hot fix. Download the hot fix from the Cisco MeetingPlace for Outlook software page.

Installation Instructions:

  1. Copy MPOLSchedule.htm to \latitude\mpweb\template\ folder.

  2. May be necessary to restart MeetingPlace Agent service if template caching is turned on.

  3. Coordinate with MeetingPlace Professional Services if applicable.
