Problem Description

Note: This Field Notice is a legacy Latitude Field Notice that has been converted to the Cisco format so the information would remain available to their customers.

Start Outlook. Start Microsoft Word. Copy some text from an Internet page into a new document.

Save the new document without closing it. In Microsoft Word, send the file out using the following actions: File > send to > mail recipient (as attachment). Enter email address and click Send. Repeat and send out another message following the same steps, and the user will see the following error message (from Outlook): "The action could not be completed" and Outlook crashes.

Problem Symptoms

The application crashes, causing loss of information.

Workaround/Solution

This issue has been fixed in MeetingPlace Outlook 4.2.5.33 hotfix. Download the hot fix from the Cisco MeetingPlace for Outlook software page.

Installation Instructions:

  1. Replace the existing setup.exe and upgrade.exe in the \latitude\mpweb\mpoutlook folder.

  2. Run ConfigClients.exe. Save and close.

  3. Have end-users install by running the setup.exe program (new users) or by clicking the upgrade link on the MeetingPlace for Outlook scheduling form (existing users).

  4. Make sure end users restart Microsoft Outlook after upgrading.
