Applies to all dense type linecards.
Damage to the uBR10-MC5x20S-D line card connectors will occur if the Universal Cable Holder (UCH) is not used to make connections.
Use of a single cable or multiple single cables to make connections to the uBR10-MC5x20S-D linecard without the Universal Cable Holder (UCH) will cause the cables to not line up properly and cause damage.
DO NOT INSERT INDIVIDUAL CABLES. DOING SO WILL DAMAGE THE LINE CARD CONNECTOR!
THIS IS AN EXAMPLE OF CONNECTOR DAMAGE.
Workaround: Use the UCH to prevent damage to the line card connectors. If damage has occurred there is no workaround. The UHC should be used with the cable components outlined in the cabling quick start guide.
The part number (P/N) under whitesands is 133-8447-036.
Solution: If damage has occurred the card must have a return materials authorization (RMA) created to restore full functionality.
