Users are unable to access Telephony User Interface (TUI) features, like calling PAB entries and caller groups, after upgrading to Personal Assistant (PA) Version 1.3(4).
When Personal Assistant is upgraded to version 1.3(4) using the upgrade image available on Cisco.com, the file miscellaneous.properties is copied with Read-Only permissions. If the pa-ccm33.bat file is executed, the miscellaneous.properties file is not updated with the information pertaining to Cisco CallManager (CCM) version 3.3(x). As a result, dynamic grammar compilation will fail and users will be unable to access certain PA features, like PAB and caller groups, while on a TUI session. If the CCM version is 3.2(x) or 3.1(x), there is no problem since the default miscellaneous.properties file contains information pertaining to CCM versions 3.2(x) and 3.1(x).
Users are unable to access TUI features, like calling PAB entries and caller groups. This happens when the CCM version is 3.3(x) and PA is upgraded to version 1.3(4) using the upgrade image available on Cisco.com.
If the CD image of 1.3(4) is used to install PA, then the problem is not encountered.
This workaround is needed only if the CCM version is 3.3(x).
Remove the Read-Only property for the file C:\Program Files\Cisco Systems\Personal Assistant\etc\miscellaneous.properties
Go to C:\Program Files\Cisco Systems\Personal Assistant\etc\
Right click on the miscellaneous.properties file.
Uncheck the read-only checkbox and save it.
Run the Batch file C:\Program Files\Cisco Systems\Personal Assistant\lib\pa-ccm33.bat the application does not have to be offline to do this.
At the DOS prompt go to C:\Program Files\Cisco Systems\Personal Assistant\lib\
Type in pa-ccm33.bat and it will run the batch file
Run the Refresh process once from PA Systemadmin. Rebooting the system is not required
Currently the problem is only seen in CallManager 3.3(x), but to avoid potential problems in the future, it is a good idea to remove the read-only permissions in versions 3.2 or 3.1 also. In this case, do not run the batch file or do a refresh on the server.
