Running software 2.5 or earlier
Music Choice is currently under "dual illumination" and is carrying both audio only and audio plus still video frames digital music channels. On April 10th they are planning to switch off the audio only signal. Those customers that are running Version 2.5 software or earlier do not have the capability to carry the Music Choice audio plus still video signal.
On April 10, Music Choice is planning to turn off its long running audio-only satellite programs. This service will be replaced by an enhanced audio program that will include a video slide show. The current version 2.5 software does not fully support the new format.
The new Music Choice format does not show a video picture
Remove the video Packet Identification (PID) numbers from the music choice streams by following this document.
Note:?One exception could be TV Guide software that will no longer use the data PID information (title track, artist) that is currently used in the stream to place the banner information over the picture. It will assume that this information is on the video image even if we choose not to pass the image onward by disabling the PID. In this case you should open a TAC case and have the TAC engineer ask for assistance from the contacts in the RateMux group for the Cable BU [Sheila Pogson (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Art Manansala (email@example.com)]
Upgrade to Version 2.6 software
Support for Music Choice with video slides will be in our 2.6 software release which is slated for available the first week of May, 2002.
