Problem Description

A Cisco product operating with a Cisco IOS software release listed the Cisco IOS Versions Affected section below may reload after operating for 100 days. This issue is tracked with the defect id CSCdw59858.

Background

The symptom for CSCdw59858 was revealed in Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2(3.4)T. Any Cisco IOS software release that has been built from 12.2(3.4)T through 12.2(7.6)T1 is affected. See the Cisco IOS Versions Affected section below for details of affected releases and images.

Problem Symptoms

A Cisco product operating with the affected Cisco IOS images may reload after operating for 100 days. Below is an example of the error messages and stack trace output from the ROMMON mode:

Workaround/Solution

Workaround

The workaround for this issue is to reset the uptime timetamp before the 100 day timetamp occurs. This can be done by reloading the affected device.

Solution
