Problem Description

Customers have sometimes had trouble finding the most current patch clusters and scripts for the Solaris 2.6 Operating System used in the products listed above. Each software release for these products is shipped with a CD that includes a Solaris Patch bundle. Customers of these products should periodically check the Cisco web site for package updates or new Solaris patches and packages recommended for their systems.

This Field Notice contains a link to the current location of Solaris updates for use in these products.

Background

The software CD for the products listed above is shipped with several Solaris updates. The page listed below should be checked periodically to determine if there have been updates after the software CD was shipped. To determine if the patch package is up to date, visit the page listed below and compare the version installed to the release listed on the page.

For example, running the command pkginfo -l -d CSCOh013.pkg will return the version of the CSCOh013 package. Compare this version to the release listed on the Solaris software web page. Update the package if the version installed is a lower number than the release listed on the web.

The two packages that are regularly updated are CSCOh007 and CSCOh013. Other packages may also be updated, or new packages created.

Some older systems may not have the CSCOh012 and CSCOh013 packages. If these packages are not installed, they should be added to the system using the instructions provided in the software installation and configuration guide.

To follow the software links below, you must be a registered user and you must be logged in.

Customers of the products listed above should check http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/mgc-sol periodically for updates that apply to the Solaris OS used in the listed products. Instructions on the application of these Solaris packages are covered in the Cisco MGC Software Release (7 or 9) Installation & Configuration Guide. See the section entitled "Installing the Operating System Software".

To make these Solaris software packages easier to find, the information has also been linked to the Voice Software Center under each applicable software release of the Media Gateway Controller, BAMS and VSPT.
