Updated January 17, 2002

April 4, 2001

Products Affected

Version 2.02 and later

Problem Description

There is a new minimum Cisco IOS® Software release required for the VIP4-50 card versions 2.02 and later. This version change on the board was made to address DDTS CSCds62557. As a result there is a new software minimum for the 2.02 version of the card and later.

If you are running an earlier hardware version and are not encountering the bug, there is no need to upgrade your Cisco IOS Software.

Note:?Some VIP4-50 cards were updated to the new version under Deviation Numbers D004977 and D003561. The boards will have a Deviation sticker labeled D004977 or D003561 on the printed circuit board of the VIP next to the -73 part number. The Top Assembly number and Revision levels were not changed in the VIP4-50 EPROM. The VIP4-50s updated under the Deviations are affected, but they will show the old revision electronically.

The card was versioned to solve DDTS CSCds62557.
