Problem Description

Cisco discovered a bug in the ISDN code that can cause router halts on routers with a MPC860 Power PC processor, such as in the Cisco 2600 Series and in the MC3810. The router halts due to a watchdog timeout. This problem is described in DDTS CSCdk62967 for the Cisco 2600 Series and DDTS CSCdk58904 for the MC3810.

Background

This problem was originally introduced with DDTS CSCdk55215.

Problem Symptoms

Cisco 2600 Series or MC3810 using ISDN may halt with a watchdog timeout.

This table lists the IOS versions that are deferred due to this problem, and recommended fixed versions.

1 IOS version 12.0(1) for the MC3810 does not contain any ISDN features, so it is not affected by this problem.
