This document provides information on how to set the CSS 11500 to
secondary boot from the second drive if the primary boot device fails.
There are no specific requirements for this document.
This document applies to the 11500 series of CSS with two disk drives
or Flash cards. This includes the following models:
The information in this document was created from the devices in a
specific lab environment. All of the devices used in this document started with
a cleared (default) configuration. If your network is live, make sure that you
understand the potential impact of any command.

In this section, you are presented with the information to configure
the features described in this document.
You will need to format the disk for it to be recognized.

The steps listed below are involved in this task.
Set the disk in slot two to work as a back up if the operating
system in slot 0 fails.

Copy a WebNS image into slot 1.

Setup the secondary boot information.

A second method to setup the secondary boot information is also
available. Reboot the box and enter Offline DM. Set the Offline DM's secondary
boot to boot from disk, as shown below.

Enter a menu number:
1. Set Primary Boot Configuration
2. Set Secondary Boot Configuration
3. Set IP Address, and Subnet Mask

Choose option 2 (this will list the available operating systems on
disk 2 (slot 1)).
Configuring SECONDARY Boot Record

Enter the boot image filename [sg0710102]:
The best way to verify if this works is to pull the disk out of the CSS
that the CSS is set to primary boot from. Reboot the CSS. The CSS should boot
from the secondary disk.
There is currently no specific troubleshooting information available
for this configuration.
