Cisco Encoders Help Increase Revenue
Cisco digital video solutions can help you increase average revenue per user. You can also deploy a variety of interactive services that are not available with basic analog cable. Our end-to-end digital video solutions provide all the important features you need in the digital headend, including:
- Encoders and transcoders
- Video processors
Digital headends and set-tops from Cisco connect more than 40 million cable subscribers to highly reliable networks. These networks deliver the performance and reliability that are essential to successful digital cable operations
Encoders and Other Digital Headend Features
The headend is the center of the Cisco cable digital video solution. It pulls in video feeds through satellites or encoders.
Video Delivery from Encoders to Nodes
The headend then delivers groomed, encrypted video through the Cisco CRS-1 Carrier Routing System in the network core. This video goes to Cisco 7600 Series Routers and Cisco edge quadrature amplitude modulation (EQAM) products. These products deliver switched digital video (SDV) into the hybrid fiber-coaxial (HFC) plant to Cisco GS7000 nodes in the last mile.
