Shannon McFarland

Principal Engineer

Shannon McFarland is a Principal Engineer for data center technologies and enterprise IPv6 design on Cisco's Consulting Engineering team in the Office of the CTO. He is currently focused on data center design validation and optimization with an application/OS focus on Microsoft server applications and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI). He has also been responsible for enterprise IPv6 design and deployment for more than eight years. McFarland has authored many technical papers, been a contributor to Cisco Press books, and is a frequent speaker at Cisco Networkers and other industry conferences. Previously he was a Solutions Architect on the Enterprise Solutions Engineering team and also a Cisco field systems engineer, supporting enterprise customers and partners. He holds CCIE certification 5245.
