Industry Solutions Architect
Christian Janoff is a retail architect in the Industry Solutions Engineering group at Cisco. He leads the technical aspect of Cisco's Payment Card Industry (PCI) initiatives and has been instrumental in developing Cisco's Validated Designs for PCI compliance. These designs and commensurate industry solutions provide guidance to retailers in their efforts to secure customer data in stores, data centers, and on the Internet edge. Janoff has more than 10 years of industry experience. Prior to Cisco, he worked as an engineer and network engineering manager at Safeway, Inc., a large grocery chain with more than 1800 store locations. His efforts included building a second data center and implementing a complete infrastructure upgrade for all locations. Prior to Safeway, Janoff was a sales engineer for SBC where he achieved Presidents Club and World Class Achiever awards. He also was the technical manager for DSpeed communications, one of the first DSL companies. Janoff spoke at the Global PCI Conference in Brussels, Belgium in October 2008. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of California at Santa Cruz.
