Industry Solutions Architect
Bart McGlothin is a retail architect in the Industry Solutions Engineering group at Cisco. He leads the technical aspect of Cisco's Lean Retail and Payment Card Industry (PCI) initiatives and has been instrumental in developing Cisco's Validated Designs for Lean Retail Architecture and PCI compliance. These designs and commensurate industry solutions provide guidance to retailers in their efforts to connect and secure customer data in stores, data centers, and on the Internet edge. He also leads Cisco's involvement with the National Retail Federation's Association for Retail Technology Standards Committee. McGlothin has more than 13 years of industry experience. Prior to Cisco, he worked as the network architect at Safeway, Inc., a large grocery chain with more than 1800 store locations. His efforts included designing and building a second data center and architecting a complete infrastructure upgrade for all locations. Prior to Safeway, Bart was a sales engineer for SBC where he received several World Class Achiever awards.
