Effective July 31, 2011, several new enhancements are available on the Cisco® Unified Communications 540 and 560 platforms, part of the Cisco Smart Business Communications System.
To better support deployments with fewer than 20 users, both the UC540 and UC560 platforms
will come equipped with 24 user licenses. List pricing remains the same and provides new customers with 16 additional licenses included on the UC540 and 8 additional licenses included on the UC560. Existing customers with fewer than 24 licenses today can upgrade free of charge by downloading software pack 8.2.0, available July 29, 2011. With this enhancement, partners and customers benefit with an average 27 percent price reduction for deployments with fewer than 24 users.
In addition, the scale of the UC560 platform is expanding to support larger-sized deployments; the
maximum number of phones on the UC560 platform will increase to 138. This includes 128 IP phones, 6 teleworkers, and 4 analog phone user licenses.
The maximum number of voice mailboxes will be 125. Customers can upgrade existing UC560 platforms to support 138 users free of charge by downloading software pack 8.2.0, available July 29, 2011.
An optional 8 GB compact flash accessory, MEMUC500-8192CF, will be available to support growth to 100+ hours of voicemail (maximum of 132 hours) on the UC560 platform. This accessory is recommended for deployments of more than 50 users and deployments requiring increased capacity over the standard 32 hours of voicemail.
These enhancements are supported by the next release of Cisco Configuration Assistant version 3.1, with the new software pack 8.2.0, available July 29, 2011.
