Cisco announces the end-of-sale and end-of life dates for the Cisco WAVE 274, 474, 574 and WAE 512, 674, 7341, and 7371 Platforms. The last day to order the affected product(s) is August 17, 2012. Customers with active service contracts will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) as shown in Table 1 of the EoL bulletin. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions and dates for the affected product(s). Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement. For customers with active and paid service and support contracts, support will be available until the termination date of the contract, even if this date exceeds the Last Date of Support shown in Table 1.

Compared with the previous-generation Cisco WAN optimization platforms, the new Cisco WAVE (Wide Area Virtualization Engine) appliances deliver:
• Five times the performance, with up to 2 Gbps optimized WAN throughput
• Four times the virtual-services density, with support for up to six virtual blades
• Substantially reduced solution footprint (a third of the previous footprint)
• Simplified IT deployment and troubleshooting
The new WAVE appliances also support both branch and data center deployments:
• WAVE 294, WAVE 594, and WAVE 694 enable branch offices to deploy multiple virtual services such as video, virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) and Windows on WAAS, with five times the throughput.
• The new WAVE 694, WAVE 7541, WAVE 7571, and WAVE 8541 appliances provide large branch offices and data centers with the industry's most scalable 10GE-capable WAN optimization solution.
Customers may be able to use the Cisco Technology Migration Program (TMP) where applicable to trade-in eligible products and receive credit toward the purchase of new Cisco equipment.
