PRODUCT BULLETIN NO. 2848
Cisco Systems ® announces the end-of-sale and end-of-life dates for the Cisco MC3810-V-AC, MC3810-V-DC, MC3810-V-RPS,
MC3810-FXO-UK, MC3810-FXO-GER, MC3810-FXO-PR2, MC3810-FXO-PR3, MC3810-VCM3, MC3810-VCM6, MC3810-VDM along with associated spares and bundles. The last day to order the affected product is December 21, 2001. Customers with active service contracts will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until December 21, 2006. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the affected product. Table 2 and 3 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement and migration information.
The Cisco MC3810 was first introduced in 1997 and led the integration of voice into Frame Relay and ATM networks for Cisco enterprise customers. Given that the MC3810-V chassis was designed over 4 years ago, some of the components are being end of sale by the manufacturers. Since 1997, Enterprise voice networks have evolved and today Cisco is driving AVVID (Architecture for Voice, Video and Integrated Data) as the blue print for this integration. The Cisco 2600 and 3600 Series platforms have been tremendously successful in the Enterprise networks, and will continue to be positioned as the lead platforms. This is reflected in the product substitution recommendations in Table 2.

Customers with either of these service contracts are entitled to free software updates, 24-hour phone support through the Technical Assistance Center, and Advanced Replacement of hardware for repairs. Comprehensive maintenance customers also receive onsite service. Customers who do not have a maintenance contract can purchase software updates and hardware repair services from Cisco to meet specific requirements rather than full-service coverage. Cisco is committed to providing software support for a minimum of two years and providing hardware support for a period of five years after the EoS date.

Data Application

Cisco 26xx Series*

Depending on the feature functionality requirements, different network modules, and images can be selected.

* Given the effort of marketing, development, and test on integration of the 26xx into the AVVID Enterprise Space this platform is a better transition for customers than moving to the MC-3810-V3 whenever possible.
** The 26xx platforms do not fully support TDM Cross Connect applications. You must use the IAD24xx for these applications.
