Product Bulletin No. 2114

The Cisco 3600 Series was introduced in 1996, providing unprecedented levels of modularity and performance to solve branch office networking needs. Cisco Systems® is announcing the End-of-Sale (EoS) and End-of-Life (EoL) of the Cisco 3600 Series routers, consisting of the Cisco 3620, Cisco 3640A, and Cisco 3660 (non .-CO. models). The last day to order the affected products is December 31, 2003.

Cisco ® encourages customers to move to the Cisco 3700 Series routers as replacements for the Cisco 3600 Series. With onboard LAN/WAN connectivity, new high-density service modules, additional memory capacity, integrated inline IP Phone power, and support for multiple Advanced Integration Modules (AIMs), the Cisco 3700 Series delivers new levels of branch office service density and performance in a compact form factor.

CISCO 3660 PRODUCTS AFFECTED BY THIS ANNOUNCEMENT

The Cisco 3660 product family was introduced in 1998, providing unprecedented levels of modularity and performance to solve branch office networking needs. The Cisco 3745, with its much higher performance levels, higher LAN/WAN port densities, additional memory capacities, and comparable solution pricing, has already been selected by many customers as being an obvious choice for high service requirements and scalability in the branch office. Based on this successful migration, Cisco is announcing the End-of-Sale and End-of-Life for the Cisco 3660-ENT (CISCO-3661-AC, CISCO-3661-DC, CISCO-3662-AC, CISCO-3662-DC) and its associated bundles.
This End-of-Sale/End-of-Life announcement does not impact the Cisco 3660-CO platforms (CISCO-3662-AC-CO, CISCO-3662-DC-CO). The Cisco 3660-CO platforms remain a vital product line going forward and will continue to get all future software releases and hardware in support of their particular market segment.
