Cisco Systems® announces the end-of-sale and end-of life dates for the Cisco Digital Modem Network Modules. The last day to order the Cisco Digital Modem Network Modules is March 16, 2007. Customers with active service contracts will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) as shown in Table 1 of this EoL bulletin. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the Cisco Digital Modem Network Modules. Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement.

Customers are encouraged to migrate to the Digital Modem PVDM Modules for the Cisco 2800 and 3800 Series Integrated Services Routers. The Digital Modem PVDM Modules provide the Cisco 2800 Series with low-density digital dial access, and provide the Cisco 3800 Series with a higher-density digital dial platform. Table 3 provides relevant information for migrating from the Cisco Digital Modem Network Modules to the Digital Modem PVDM Modules.

The last date to extend or renew a service contract for the product.

Last Date of Support: HW

The last date to receive service and support for the product. After this date, all support services for the product are unavailable, and the product becomes obsolete.

Product Migration Options

The replacement modules are designed in the PVDM form factor for use in the on-board PVDM slots of the Cisco 2800 and 3800 Series Integrated Services Routers. This design allows customers to reserve the network module slots for application services modules or for services not available in other form factors. To provide maximum flexibility to meet different branch-size requirements, the Cisco Digital Modem PVDM Modules are available in a variety of densities.
