Cisco UCS ® E-Series Server modules are power-optimized 64-bit blade servers designed to be deployed in the Cisco Integrated Services Routers Generation 2 (ISR G2) family of routers. Cisco Video Surveillance Manager deployed on the Cisco UCS E-Series brings a more powerful integrated platform for physical security to branch offices.
More than 80 percent of today's branch offices around the world use Cisco integrated services routers. These routers are designed to provide branch offices with all primary communications services-voice, data, and video-in a single and flexible network access platform. This flexibility includes a physical security component: a virtualized Cisco Video Surveillance Manager offering for Cisco UCS E-Series Server modules. Integrating physical security into the router provides tighter linkage between video surveillance and other branch office applications that enhance efficiency and productivity.
Cisco Video Surveillance Manager for the Cisco UCS E-Series uses Video Surveillance Manager technology that has been optimized for virtual environments. This technology seamlessly integrates with new and existing Video Surveillance Manager deployments.

Number of vCPUs Configured

The Cisco UCS E-Series servers have various configuration options for the CPU. The single-wide blade includes a four-core Intel Xeon E3-1100 processor and the double-wide blade includes either a four-core or six-core Intel Xeon E5-2400 processor. The Cisco UCS-E160xx CPU configuration used to yield maximum I/O results in Table 4 was the four-core Intel Xeon E5-2400 processor.
One or more virtual CPUs (vCPUs) can be assigned to each virtual machine (VM). The maximum I/O results in Table 4 were achieved with two or four dedicated vCPUs configured per virtual machine.

Maximum I/O

The maximum I/O is defined as the highest aggregate bandwidth into and out of Cisco Video Surveillance Manager for the Cisco UCS E-Series when operating with exclusive access to the Cisco UCS E-Series hardware resources. Input sources include endpoint streams and output destinations include active viewing workstations and video walls.

Maximum Raw Storage

The maximum raw storage is a simple calculation of the total number of disks available per platform multiplied by the maximum supported disk capacity. The actual usable storage will be less based on storage array, software, and operating system configurations. The single-wide blade can support up to two hard-disk drives and the double-wide blade can support up to three hard-disk drives. Refer to the Cisco UCS E-Series data sheets for technical specifications.
