The Small Computer System Interface (SCSI) is a set of standards for connecting devices and transferring data. The Cisco Video Surveillance Services Platform with SCSI provides a SCSI connection to external storage arrays, allowing you to store video data and to view recorded video streams any time, anywhere, from any device.
Using Cisco Video Surveillance Stream Manager Software and providing high-quality MPEG-4 encoding, the Services Platform with SCSI offers a wide array of features in a single component that is easy to use and deploy. It provides a cost-effective, scalable, and flexible way to replace traditional analog or digital video recorders in a variety of video surveillance deployments. Figure 1 shows the Cisco Video Surveillance Services Platform with SCSI.
