The Cisco® Video Surveillance Video Encoder Card enables you to use existing analog surveillance equipment to rapidly deploy an IP-enabled video surveillance solution while transitioning to IP cameras. The card can produce D1-resolution, full frame rate video on all analog channels, and is available in 16-port and 8-port configurations.

Product Overview

The Cisco Video Surveillance Encoder Card is a component of the Cisco Video Surveillance Manager product line, which is designed for flexible deployments based on individual customer needs such as bandwidth availability, storage density, and usage patterns. The Encoder Card is designed to be deployed in the Cisco Physical Security Multiservices Platform (MSP) for Physical Security (MSP) as an add-on option, providing the following capabilities:

High-density analog video encoding: Up to 16 ports in a single card

High-quality standard-definition video:

– Common Intermediate Format (CIF) to D1

– Full frame rate per port at maximum resolution

Remote camera control: MSP provides an RS-232 daisy chain for serial pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) control of up to 32 traditional cameras

Flexible codec selection: Motion JPEG and H.264

Embedded motion detection

Installation options:

– 8-port or 16-port cards

– Compact cable option for mounting adjacent to the back of an MSP server

– 32-port BNC connector panel

Mix-and-match IP cameras with analog cameras: Operates with IP cameras on the same MSP server, general performance restrictions must be considered
