Cisco ® announces the end-of-sale and end-of life dates for the Cisco AVS 3120 Application Velocity System. The last day to order the affected product(s) is October 21, 2008. Customers with active service contracts will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) as shown in Table 1 of the EoL bulletin. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the affected product(s). Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement. For customers with active and paid service and support contracts, support will be available until the termination date of the contract, even if this date exceeds the Last Date of Support shown in Table 1.
Cisco sales teams and channel partners are encouraged to transition their Cisco AVS 3120 Application Velocity System sales, and migrate their current AVS 3120 Application Velocity System installation base, to the Cisco ACE 4710 Application Control Engine. In addition to providing the same network latency mitigation, bandwidth reduction, and server CPU offload capabilities as the Cisco AVS 3120, the Cisco ACE 4710 maximizes application availability, accelerates application performance, secures the data center and applications, and facilitates data center consolidation through fewer servers, load balancers, and data center firewalls. Cisco ACE 4710 offers advanced features like virtual devices, role-based administration, and management through the Cisco Application Networking Manager and the embedded Device Manager on the Cisco ACE 4710 appliance. For AppScope, use Cisco AVS 3180 Management Station
