Configuring Advanced Video Settings

In the Advanced Video Settings dialog box you can configure the video codec, video image size, participant layout options, theme, and additional layouts for a particular service.

Procedure

  1. In the MSA interface, on the sidebar, click MCU.
  2. Click the Services tab.
  3. Select the service.
  4. Click Edit.
  5. Click Advanced Video Settings.
  6. The system displays the choice of codecs that you prefer and the supported image size in the Video Codecs and Image Size section.

The system lists the codecs in declining order of preference, listing the most preferred codec first. Setting the codec priorities notifies the Media Server and remote endpoints of your preferred video codecs. This is useful when more than one codec is supported by both sides.

  7. Follow these steps to add or remove a codec from the Available field:
    1. Click the codec.
    2. Click Add to add it or Remove to remove it.
  8. Follow these steps to move a codec in the priority list:
    1. Click the codec.
    2. Click Up to move it up or Down to move it down.
  9. Choose the maximum incoming picture format supported in meetings using this service from the Support image size up to field.
  10. Select the layout options that you wish to define for this service from the Main (Participant) Layout section.
  11. Select Dynamically change layout as participants join or leave to dynamically enlarge or reduce the displayed number of subframes.
  12. Select Enable auto switch and enter the interval in seconds in order to configure automatic switching. Automatic switching allows participant images in the video layout to periodically change and display other meeting participants according to the interval set.
  13. Select an option from the Display participants names field to show the name of a participant at the bottom of each sub-frame.
  14. Select Slightly reduce image size for optimal TV display to change the display from PC screen mode to TV screen mode.
  15. Select Enable `No Self See' to configure removal of the self image.
  16. Select a theme from the Themes to use field. Basic is the default.
  17. (Optional) Select Enable custom layouts in the Additional Layouts section, to define custom layouts so that you can maintain backward compatibility with previous product versions.
  18. (Optional) Click Settings to define the layout options in the Custom Layout Settings dialog box.
  19. Note     If you select Support presentation view (Duo Video and H.239), one of the customized layouts must be the Presentation layout.
