Configuring Advanced Audio Settings
Transcoding between audio protocols enables the Media Server to support communication between endpoints with different audio codecs. You configure service audio transcoding in the Audio Settings dialog box.
For a service, you can configure meeting audio codec support and transcoding priorities. The Media Server supports the following audio codecs:
Procedure
- In the MSA interface, on the sidebar, click MCU.
- Click the Services tab.
- Select the service.
- Click Edit.
- Click Advanced Audio Settings.
The audio codec settings section displays the choice of codecs that you prefer for audio transcoding. The system lists the codecs in declining order of preference, listing the most preferred codec first. Setting the codec priorities notifies the Media Server and remote endpoints of your preferred audio codecs. This is useful when more than one codec is supported by both sides.

- Enter the minimum audio packet size in the Audio packet size field.
- Enter the interval (in milliseconds) before the voice-activated video-switching mechanism displays a new active speaker in the video image in the Speaking duration to become `Active Speaker' field. The default setting is 3000 milliseconds.
- Click OK.
