Monitor > Overview

The overview provides a quick look at the system overview of mail trends over time including displaying the incoming messages per hour, messages in the cue, and messages that have been quarantined by virus or policy. You can also monitor incoming and outgoing mail by time range.

You also have the ability to search for specific email messages by multiple variants including IP address, network user and incoming TLS domain (click drop down box to show variants).

Monitor: Scheduled Reports

Scheduled reports allows you to create a specific report that is automatically generated and sent to you showing data collected during the specified time range, delivery method either emailed or archived, desired format, and frequency of the report.

These reports can be edited by clicking on the report type and changing any of the parameters.

It's quick and easy to add another scheduled report. Simply click "add scheduled report" and change the desired parameters.

Monitor > System Status

System Status displays a complete overview the entire Blocker system. Here you can find information that details CPU utilization, mail handling and completion rates, information about the mail processing queue, active recipients queue, how much disk space is being used and how much is available. The counters provide detailed statistics of messages received including bounced and dropped messages. DNS status shows how many requests were received and detail of caching hits, misses, expiration and exceptions.

Monitor > Archived Reports

Archived reports provide a method to keep reports consolidated until you are ready to view them. This particular list shows all of the daily reports that are archived. 

Monitor > Virus Types

Selecting Virus Types allows you to see the top incoming and outgoing viruses on your network by specific date range.

System Administration

(View System Administration Drop-down menu)

System Administration allows you to make specific items actionable. Here you can trace from where a message came, add a recipient to be notified when an alert is seen on the system, hardware, updater, anti-spam or anti-virus. You may also change the settings or alter notification and the frequency by which you’d like to receive alerts.

Here you may also add users so others may manage the Blocker.

System Administration > LDAP

Configuring LDAP is also possible from this tab. Click on LDAP/add LDAP server profile, and fill in the specifics pertinent to your server. You may also select from various queries.

System Admniistration > Return Address

For system generated email related to virus,’ bounced mail, you may create return email addresses such as Cisco Reporting for reports.

System Administration > Configuration File

From configuration file, you may also save configuration files to your desktop or upload configurations onto the blocker. It is also possible to set your configuration back to the factory default settings

System Administration > Shutdown/Reboot

System shutdown and reboot may also be accessed from here, as well as upgrading the asynch OS of your system.

System Administration > System Setup Wizard

Access to the system setup wizard is also under system administration. However, re-running the system setup wizard will completely erase any existing configuration settings, including network settings.

System Setup Wizard > Next Steps

By accessing "next steps" brings you to check on the configuration of you firewall settings, NAT, and Mx record configuration. Clicking on any of these area’s displays detailed information to assist you in checking these settings. From here you may also run a system test to confirm that blocker is ready to receive mail. This test will check for internet connectivity and basic mail handling. You may access system test by itself where you’ll enter in a valid email address. A successful system test will be confirmed by the receipt of a confirmation email.

Monitor > Quarantines

This is where you view the quarantines you have set up. There is a pre-set up quarantine for spam, and in addition you can configure multiple quarantines to quarantine based on content filters.

Monitor > Edit Anti-Spam Qauarantine

click edit the anti-spam quarantine. “Here is where you edit the parameters of the anti-spam quarantine. You can adjust the size, delete timeframe, access and appearance. You can also configure notification emails to be sent to end users when messages hit the anti-spam quarantine. Note: gray out ‘submit’ button so people can’t submit.

Monitor > Quarantine Search

Click the name of the quarantine. Here you can search for messages in the quarantine by subject, "from" and "to" fields and date.

Monitor > Message Tracking

Using the message tracking function you can search on messages by subject subject, "from" and "to" fields and date. Note: have a term that is pre-loaded into one of the fields and make it so the field can’t be erased. That way when the user clicks “search” the right term will appear.

Click the search button to view search results.

Messages that meet the search condition are presented, with the search term highlighted). Click on the "show details" link to see message details as well to see information on how the message was processed and where it was delivered.

Mail Policies > Incoming Mail Policies

This is the incoming policy view. Administrators can create policies to certain recipients.

Mail Policies > Edit Incoming Mail Policies

Click on the 'policy name' cell in a particular policy.

Here is where you can add or remove policy users. You can enter in email addresses or use LDAP for group queries.

Mail Policies > Edit Anti-Spam

Click on the 'anti spam' cell in a particular policy.

Here is where you can view and edit the anti-spam configuration.

Mail Policies > Edit Anti-Virus

Click on the 'anti-virus' cell in a particular policy.

Here is where you can view and edit the anti-virus configuration.

Mail Policies > Incoming Content Filters

Here you can create a content filters. Click on "add filter" see how to add content filters.

Mail Policies > Add Content Filter

Here you can create a filter on numerous condition types such as message body, size, attachment content, file info, subject header . . . You can also choose multiple actions such as quarantine, notify, add footer, strip attachment . . . .

Mail Policies > Edit Existing Filter

Here you can edit conditions, actions and order of existing content filters.
